today i realized
so today i realized that i'm not going to another tournament for over a month. i used to get freaked out by that; oftentimes, if i had a 2-week stretch between tournaments, i would just work and count down the days until the next time i got to debate. honestly, though, i think this month is going to be sort of liberating. it'll be nice to reconnect, get some rest, etc.
it also got me thinking about taking a little bit of time off debate next year. as much as i love this activity, i think it'd be good if i tried to disconnect myself from it a little bit and got into the swing of college first. i'd still judge occasionally, but i don't really think i want to try to live vicariously through someone else next year. i dunno, i'm not sure about any of this; it's just what's running through my head right now.
